first_imgNearly four years after the body of a Pegasus Hotel taxi driver was found in a heap of garbage at Caneview Avenue, South Ruimveldt, Georgetown, the manMurder accused: Lorenzo Forde will stand trial on Mondayimplicated in his murder will stand trial at the Demerara High Court on Monday.A 12-member jury was late last week empanelled before Justice Brassington Reynolds to hear the case of Lorenzo Forde, who was just 18 when he was charged with the murder of Rubranauth Jeeboo.At last week’s High Court arraignment, Forde, represented by Attorneys Hewley Griffith and Rachael Bakker, denied the State’s contention that between December 27 and 28, 2013, he murdered Jeebo in the course of a robbery.According to reports, on December 27, Jeeboo left his Campbellville, Georgetown home for work and the following day, December 28 around 07:50h, his body was discovered with several injuries. Police investigations had revealed that following his demise, Jeeboo’s cellular phone, which was stolen, was still being used.The first of the State’s 12 witnesses will testify when the matter continues at the High Court on Monday.
